Call Your Representative Today

President Obama is just days away from the first critical test of his new policy for Sudan: making Sudan a priority when he meets with Chinese President Hu Jintao.

A letter being circulated by members of Congress urges the President to raise Sudan during his visit to China as the first step in building a coalition of countries to exert public pressure on Sudan to bring peace and justice to the war-torn country.

Join the hundreds of activists who are lobbying Congress today. Call your representative and ask them to sign on the congressional letter on Sudan to President Obama. Here's how:

  1. Call the congressional switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask for your representative.

  2. Tell the person who answers the phone at your representative's office:

    • My name is __________ and I am calling to ask my representative to sign the Wolf-Capuano letter to President Obama.

    • Rep. Frank Wolf and Rep. Michael Capuano are circulating a sign-on letter in Congress urging the President to prominently feature Sudan on his agenda with China.

    • The Wolf-Capuano letter urges the President to push China to use its influence over Sudan to end attacks in Darfur, implement the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, prepare for free and fair elections, and make a renewed commitment to the ongoing peace process.

    • Thank you for helping to bring peace to Darfur and all of Sudan.
